Hello folks!
It’s been a couple busy weeks for me, as I started a new part time job. Sadly, that’s meant I haven’t posted here in almost a week – far too long!
I have been working on a regional map to support the village map I shared this past Saturday. As mentioned before, I’m using materials I build for adventures to world build the southern end of my fictional world of Oilinane.
The island is controlled by a race of elves, the Aodh, who are loosely patterned after the early Celts of Ireland. Little is known of this group, of course, but one of the few things is that there were likely three different levels of organization: tribe, sept and clan. Clans are merely extended families, and rarely go beyond local farmsteads and villages, while tribes are based larger areas of loosely affiliated people. The sept is somewhere in between these two, and on Oilinane I have made them similar to the familiar concept of the regional map in role-playing games.
The map itself is 60 miles by 48 miles, and contains several points of interest. Thinking in terms of fifth edition tiers of play, I’d imagine the village of Kinneigh to be for the first tier (levels 1-4), while the regional map might cover the second (levels 5-10).
I hope you find the map worthwhile;
