I’ve mentioned before that I’ve been working on a hex crawl for my Dungeons and Dragons home group. In support of it, I’ve been making secondary maps for when the group blunders into suitable analogs.
My latest addition to these is a battlemap that functions as a “village of the giants”, inspired by reading the description for hill giants in Wizards of the Coast’s Monster Manual. The premise here is that the characters will learn from a wandering group that there is a group of giants raiding in the area. After learning of this, the party will encounter the giants themselves a few times, and then come across the village. What happens then is up to the GM and players, of course.
