Hi all. I’ve been away house-sitting over the last week, so I’m getting this up a bit late. I posted a new free adventure to my Patreon last Wednesday. It’s called Raid on the Fairy Mound! (the exclamation is part of the title).
Since the setting is very early Celtic, I wanted to do something prototypically Celtic. The clan that is calling for the raid has had one of its members killed by some renegade Aos Si (who are roughly the SIdhe of Irish mythology), and they are ordering the raid in the hopes of recompensing the family without going to all out war. This was commonly done between Celtic families historically, since all out war was actually a rare thing.
Of course this is strange to our modern sensibilities, and I thought it would set up an interesting psychological tension for the adventurers. Of course the mound they attack has been taken over by a cult of faeries bent on driving the current inhabitants of the land out.
